About Darren

Darren Duncan is a seventh-generation Vermilion County resident with a deep-seated commitment to the community he calls home. His family has farmed the soil of Vermilion County since 1820, a 200-year history that has instilled in him a profound respect for hard work, integrity, and the responsibility of protecting our shared resources for the next generation.

Rooted in family and faith, Darren believes that strong families are the backbone of a strong county. He has been married for 30 years to his wife, Natalie, the Executive Director of the Danville Library Foundation. Together, they have raised four children: Emily, First Lieutenant Allison (an attorney in the U.S. Army JAG Corps), Laura (a nursing student), and Adam (a law student).

The Duncan family are active members of St. James United Methodist Church in Danville. For Darren, public service is not just a job—it is a continuation of a family tradition of caring for our neighbors and ensuring that Vermilion County remains a place where families can thrive for another 200 years.
